The Civic Joy Fund is an independent and apolitical non-profit, teaming up with local artists, musicians, small businesses, volunteers and community leaders. We aim to bring more art, music, color, energy and joy to our city streets - the most public of civic spaces - to assist in our economic recovery and diverse projects that make our city of San Francisco so great.

Our Projects Include:

  • Adopt-A-Block: Investing $100,000 each in 5 corridors around the City to help with physical improvements.

  • The Civic Joy Corps: A big monthly first Saturdays volunteer project that brings 100 San Franciscans together to do some good. Anyone can sign up to join here.

  • Clean Up the City: Organizing 10 weekly neighborhood trash pick ups followed by communal meals. Anyone can sign up to join here.

  • Paint The City: Paying artists to paint pieces of public art in 10 neighborhoods.

  • Summer of Music: Paying musicians to play every Saturday on commercial streets in nine neighborhoods this Summer. Musicians can sign here.

  • Halloween Back in the Castro: Community-friendly festivities, Costume contest, $5 Castro Theatre movies, partnered with Castro Merchants, Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and LGBTQ+ dignitaries.

  • San Francisco is a Drag:  Oasis Arts Inc, drag luminaries D'Arcy Drollinger, Honey Mahogany, and Juanita MORE!, present a city-wide extravaganza featuring over 100 drag performers, transgender luminaries, and allies performing all over the city streets for an action packed weekend.
